A Note from Joe Maiella, MPC President
To make 2008 our best year ever, we want to see the production community grow and develop more services and resources for the film, commercial, and new media productions yet to come. We need to develop more local production resources to meet the growing demand from projects large and small. And finally, we want to see our membership expand in order to better serve and represent the production community as a whole. Here are some of the areas we're focused on for 2008:
Workforce Development - We're looking at ways to offer educational programs, symposiums, and apprenticeship opportunities to help grow and continue to train the local production community.
Academic Partnerships - In order to maintain the State's aggressive pursuit of production, we'll be working with local communications schools to make sure that the best and brightest stay and work in-state.
Mass. Film Office Alliance - We'll continue to work with Nick Paleologos and his office to address the needs of the production community and expands the state's outreach and marketing initiatives.
Legislative - We'll continue to monitor any and all legislative issues that may impact the industry and keep you informed on trends that affect our production community.
With your help, we can make tremendous strides in all of these areas. If you haven't already done so, please add your support for the MPC by renewing your membership today. Tell you're your friends and colleagues about the MPC and how we work to serve the community.
